Huge WWE In-Ring Future Update On 50-Year-Old Rey Mysterio

Rey Mysterio at the WWE Hall of Fame

The latest on Rey Mysterio’s WWE future has emerged.

Earlier this year, the 50-year-old WWE Hall of Famer had to be sidelined with a groin injury. While previously scheduled to face El Grande Americano at WrestleMania 41, he was later replaced by Dragon Lee.

Sidelined with the injury and recovering from it, Mysterio continued to make sporadic television appearances, mostly during WWE’s segments with Lucha Libre AAA, and their collaboration shows.

Recently, a report from PWInsider emerged and dropped the latest update on Mysterio’s in-ring future. The report notes that Mysterio is close to returning to the ring following his injury. He is now expected to be at the performance centre next week as part of his return procedure.

WWE Hall Of Famer Rey Mysterio Wants His Son, Dominik Mysterio, To Fulfill an Unfinished Family Goal

Turning heel and going against his father a few years ago, Rey Mysterio and ‘Dirty’ Dominik have maintained a tense relationship since then. However, as a father, the Hall of Famer recently opened up about his son hopefully fulfilling this family goal.

Well, first thought that comes to mind is, I never became Mega Champion in AAA in the 4 years that I was there. So, honestly, God’s honest truth, I give him his props if he overcomes that obstacle.

Another thing that a Mysterio has never done is become double champion – carrying a title from the US and a title from Mexico. If he were to do that, now I’m gonna have to tip my mask twice to him. Would it be hard? Yes, it would be, because I wish he was flat on this ground, on earth, and not in cloud nine,” Rey Mysterio said.

The Hall of Famer added, “I don’t know if two titles define you as ‘The greatest Mysterio of all time,’ I mean, this is gonna happen in one night. I’ve been doing this for 34 years. Would one night overcome 34 years of career? That’s a people question.”
