Becky Lynch and Lyra Valkyria have words on WWE RAW

Former WWE Superstar refused to submit to Becky Lynch.

Becky Lynch has faced several well-known superstars, whether past or present. She has had her fair share of losses just as much as wins. Interestingly, former WWE star Ronda Rousey had no problems losing to The Man, but did have an issue with the manner it would be done.

Ronda Rousey was already popular before signing with WWE in 2017, as she was a major MMA star before becoming a professional wrestler. She was the first female fighter and champion in the UFC and had a 12 wins, 2 losses record before retiring.

However, before all this, she was also a talented Judoka. At only 11, she began training for the sport. At 11, she was the youngest Judoka to qualify for the 2004 Olympic Games, and in the 2008 version, she won Bronze. Due to the importance of the sport to her and her mother, who was also a Judoka, The Baddest Woman on the Planet refused to tap out from Becky Lynch.

Ronda Rousey Didn’t Want To Tap Out To Becky Lynch, But Chose Another Star Instead

Ronda Rousey was a recent guest at The Lapsed Fan, where she was asked if her tapping out to Becky Lynch at WrestleMania 35 was ever proposed. The former WWE star revealed that it was proposed to be done at a different premium live event, but noted that she refused to do it as her mother wouldn’t have been fond of the decision.

The former MMA fighter added that outside professional wrestling and during her competition days, she also refused to tap out or be submitted, and either get her arm dislocated or be choked out instead.

“It was proposed that I tap out to her [Becky Lynch] armbar at Survivor Series, and I said my mother would disown me. Anytime anyone’s ever actually Armbar me in real-life, I would just let them dislocate it. So uhm, I’m not gonna do it. Anytime anyone ever choked me out in competition, I just went out, I don’t tap.”

Continuing with her story, Ronda Rousey shared that the only person she would willingly lose to a submission was Shayna Baszler, a close friend and fellow former MMA fighter.

The former RAW Women’s Champion that due to her request, that’s what happened during her final WWE match at SummerSlam 2023 against Shayna, wherein they squared off in an MMA rules match with Baszler winning via technical submission.

The only person I said that I would ever allow to submit me was Shayna [Baszler]. And that’s how I wanted to go out, so that’s how I went out.”
