As the dust finally settles on WrestleMania 39, attention within WWE is beginning to turn to what lies in store for Roman Reigns and the Undisputed WWE Universal Title at WrestleMania 40.
At the spectacular in California, Reigns retained the gold with a highly controversial win over Cody Rhodes. The former AEW star has enjoyed tremendous popularity since returning to WWE and overcame a serious injury to win the Royal Rumble setting up a match with the Tribal Chief. Rhodes spoke openly about his desire to win the World Championship that his father never won, and the table seemed set for a glorious end to the story.
However, Reigns defeated Rhodes with more than a little help from Solo Sikoa, and many fans were left stunned.
Despite this defeat, it appears that Rhodes’ quest to get the better of Roman Reigns is far from over. It has now been reported by Wrestle Votes via GiveMeSport, that a huge rematch between the pair is under consideration for WrestleMania 40. Although not stated in the report, it would appear likely that this would again involve the Undisputed WWE Universal Title.
“I can say this. The rematch that’s at the forefront of everybody’s minds, Cody vs Roman, is very much on the table to main event in Philadelphia next year.”
Roman Reigns To Split From The Usos During The WWE Draft?
Ahead of the WWE Draft which begins on April 28th, WWE released the list of Superstars who are eligible to be drafted and on which night. The draft is set to be completed on the May 1st edition of Raw.
Interestingly, The Bloodline is listed as being Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa, while The Usos are listed separately. This has led to speculation that The Bloodline could be cut in half.
