As per Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, a mega-feud is on between Roman Reigns and Daniel Bryan for the WWE Universal Championship after Survivor Series and those plans have been revealed.
In the latest edition of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Meltzer noted that the Survivor Series Qualifying Match between Daniel Bryan and Jey Uso on last Friday’s edition of SmackDown was the catalyst for the rivalry after November 22.
In the aforementioned clash, the newly christened heel not only defeated the former WWE Champion but then proceeded to attack him post-match as Roman Reigns watched on.
WWE issued a storyline update on Bryan’s condition stating that the star had suffered a bruised kidney as well as multiple strains and contusions throughout his thoracic and lumbar spine.
The severity of the grievance will likely be used as the excuse to keep him away from television until after Survivor Series so WWE can concentrate on building Roman Reign vs. Randy Orton.
Though Dave Meltzer did not mention when the rivalry would commence, it is thought to be pencilled in to fill the gap between November and after the Royal Rumble in January. Following that, WWE will begin to build Reigns for his WrestleMania 37 feud against rumoured opponents The Rock, Big E or whoever should win the 30-Man elimination bout.
