A massive match could be added to the WWE WrestleMania 41 card following the events that took place at the Royal Rumble.
While the chaotic main event will best be remembered for the shock Jey Uso win and arguably one of the most stacked line-ups in Rumble history, one of the most significant moments took place outside of the ring. As Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins were attempting to eliminate each other, CM Punk took advantage and dumped them both out of the ring. Moments later, Punk joined Reigns and Rollins on the outside as he was thrown out by Logan Paul.
Frustrated at the elimination, Rollins hit a stomp onto Reigns before brawling with Punk. Just as it appeared that order had been restored, Rollins hit a second stomp onto Reigns on the steel steps. On the next episode of Raw, Michael Cole announced that Roman Reigns would be out of action for the foreseeable future as a result of the attack. According to a new report, all 3 are set to collide on The Grandest Stage in April.
As reported by Mike Johnson of PWInsider, the Reigns attack was done to write out The OTC in the short term, adding that the current plan is to have Punk vs. Rollins vs. Reigns as one of the Mania matches. It should also be noted that Punk has qualified for the Men’s Elimination Chamber match on March 1st and Rollins will also compete in a qualifying match in the coming weeks.
Another WWE Star Set For Extended Absence
Although the road to WrestleMania officially began at the Royal Rumble, multiple top stars are set to be absent for a number of weeks. Along with Reigns being written off TV, another report has indicated when WWE fans will see John Cena on TV again.
