Roman Reigns To Take On Brock Lesnar At WWE Crown Jewel

Roman Reigns vs Brock Lesnar

WWE have announced that Brock Lesnar will face Roman Reigns at Crown Jewel on October 21st.

On September 10th, Brock Lesnar returned to SmackDown at Madison Square Garden for a showdown with Roman Reigns.

In the show’s opening segment, Lesnar stirred the pot between Reigns and his Special Counsel Paul Heyman, asking why he didn’t tell the champion he would be at SummerSlam.

As Reigns and The Usos left the ring, a visibly nervous Heyman performed his now-famous introduction for Lesnar. Not that everything was suddenly back to normal. The Beast hoisted Heyman for an F5, but The Bloodline quickly intervened. Heyman managed to escape, but Lesnar made his presence felt, taking The Usos to ‘Suplex City.’

The former Universal Champion also made sure to lay down a challenge to Roman Reigns.

After the main event where Reigns made sure The Usos retained their Tag Team Titles against The Street Profits, the Head of the Table accepted Lesnar’s challenge.

It has now been confirmed that the marquee match will take place at Crown Jewel. The event mark’s WWE’s first return to Saudi Arabia since Super ShowDown in February 2020. On that occasion, Goldberg defeated The Fiend Bray Wyatt in the main event.

The big question heading into the bout is whether the Universal Championship will be on the line. It has already been confirmed that Reigns will meet Finn Balor at Extreme Rules on September 26th with the title on the line.

At Madison Square Garden Balor upped the ante ahead of the match by resurrecting his ‘Demon’ persona. With Reigns standing tall in the ring, the lights dimmed and a familiar heartbeat echoed around the World’s Most Famous Arena. Balor then emerged from a trademark plume of smoke to confront the champion as the show went off the air.
