At WWE Crown Jewel 2022 Logan Paul went toe-to-toe with Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns in what was only his third match in WWE. Despite his inexperience, the YouTube star pushed Reigns all of the way, but his efforts did come at a cost.
In the aftermath of the bout Paul revealed that he had torn is MCL, meniscus and potentially his ACL. Such an injury would have caused the star to miss a number of months of action, potentially even placing any planned involvement at WrestleMania in jeopardy. However, it appears that the situation isn’t quite as bad as first feared.
Logan Paul Rehabbing Knee Injury In LA
Speaking to DAZN, Jake Paul, who was also involved in the action in Saudi Arabia offered an update on his brother’s condition. Jake revealed that Logan had only damaged his MCL and meniscus, importantly avoiding a more serious ACL injury.
“He’s doing better than expected. They thought it was [an ACL injury], but it just turned out to be the MCL and Meniscus, which is better. He’s rehabbing it in LA and hoping for the best.”
The comments appear to confirm suggestions that Logan Paul believes he’ll be ready for WrestleMania 39 in California. During a recent episode of his podcast, Paul revealed that he had already texted Triple H to request a match with John Cena at the spectacular.
“After the Crown Jewel event, John Cena posted about me on his Instagram. And then I saw an article saying he’s looking for an opponent at WrestleMania,” Paul explained. “I favorited it, responded with “the eyes”. I mean, truthfully, I think me vs. John Cena would break the internet. I texted Triple H right away, ‘do you want to break the internet again?’ That’s a dream matchup, dude: at WrestleMania, in LA, on my birthday. Triple H, throw me a bone, give me a birthday present, let me take out John Cena. And that’d be crazy.”
“I think that’s the model I’m going to pitch to WWE, to give you an insight into what our meetings look like” he added. “This week, we’re meeting with them, I’m just going to be like, ‘Hey, this works for me. Put me up against the best y’all have, I’m gonna f****** deliver. You know that for a fact. Not only to put on an amazing match, but I’m going to put asses in seats and eyeballs glued to the television.”
