According to a new report, there’s a very good chance Bobby Lashley will make an appearance on the Grandest Stage of Them All.
Ahead of the Elimination Chamber premium live event, Bray Wyatt laid out a WrestleMania challenge to the winner of the bout between Bobby Lashley and Brock Lesnar. When Lesnar was caught in the Hurt Lock during the match, he delivered a low blow to Lashley, earning himself a disqualification as the referee declared Lashley the winner.
In the weeks that followed, Lashley and Wyatt began to build a program for their planned WrestleMania bout, but plans came crashing to a halt when Wyatt was pulled from both live events and television appearances amidst reports that he was dealing with an unknown “physical issue” that was later clarified to be an illness.
Bobby Lashley Won The Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Roya
On the March 27th episode of Raw, Bobby Lashley came face to face with participants of the upcoming Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal, making it clear that he will be entering that bout on SmackDown. Then, on the March 31st episode of SmackDown, he emerged victorious in the match, following in the path of superstars such as Cesaro, Mojo Rawley, and Baron Corbin.
According to a new report from Fightful Select, the Andre the Giant statue has been brought from the Staples Center to SoFi Stadium, the site of WrestleMania. According to the report, the statue is expected to be used as part of an entrance, indicating that Lashley will at the very least be appearing at the blockbuster event.
A previous report stated that there were backup plans in place to get Lashley on the card, possibly to face Wyatt’s old foe LA Knight. The report from Fightful does not provide any information about which night the statue is to be used.
It was revealed mid-day Saturday that the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship match between The Usos and Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn will be the main event of night one.
