How Many Stitches Did Darby Allin Need After Scary AEW Revolution Spot?

Darby Allin goes through a pane of glass at AEW Revolution

Darby Allin is remarkably ok after taking a scary bump through glass at AEW Revolution.

Revolution marked the in-ring retirement of Sting, who teamed with Darby Allin to take on The Young Bucks in his final match. At one point in the highly-praised bout, Allin dove from a huge ladder and fell through a pane of glass. His back immediately began bleeding, but despite his injuries, the star was able to finish the match.

After the show went off the air, Sting addressed the crowd and Allin joked that he had to “go to the hospital real quick.” During a media scrum following the event, Darby Allin updated fans on his condition, saying:

“I wanted to come here to let people know I was still alive. I was in the middle of getting stitched up, but I wanted to show everybody that the doctors are on top of it, I’m still breathing. I feel fine, and as long as Flair, Steamboat, Sting, the Bucks, everybody else feels fine, then we’re beautiful.” (h/t Fightful)

Darby Allin also confirmed that he would be leaving to climb Mount Everest on March 27th after receiving clearance from his doctors.

Update On Darby Allin Following AEW Revolution

Speaking on the March 4th episode of Wrestling Observer Live, Bryan Alvarez reported that Allin remarkably needed only 12 stitches following his gruesome landing at Revolution. Alvarez stated:

“I looked at this guy’s back last night and it was like he was wearing a red cape.

I thought, ‘Oh my god, they’re not going to let him back in the match.’ They did. He’s still streaming blood everywhere out of his back.

He needed *pause* 12 stitches.

I heard that and I was like, ‘Okay, hold a second, you mean 1200 right? 12,000?’

12 stitches. I don’t know how but thank god, and that’s the story. So, he’s on his way to Everest.” (h/t F4WOnline)

While some were entertained by Darby Allin’s insane dive, one former WWE announcer was not.
