Certain details about former SmackDown Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey’s suspension have been revealed.
Ronda Rousey faced off against Liv Morgan at WWE SummerSlam this past weekend in what was a short bout that was dominated by Rousey.
The match ended in a very controversial way as Ronda Rousey had an armbar locked in on Morgan, but her shoulders were down for the three count. Once the referee hit the count of two, Morgan began to tap but the referee didn’t see it and instead counted three on Rousey.
Despite her protests, Rousey had lost and the former UFC star then took her frustrations out on Liv Morgan before also attacking the referee.
Due to that attack, WWE announced that – at least in storyline – Rousey has been fined and suspended by the company.
Ronda Rousey won’t be out for long though, as it has been revealed by Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio that she is scheduled for the WWE’s next premium live event, Clash At The Castle:
“She’s booked on the Cardiff show, so she’s going to be unsuspended at least before (that). I don’t know when she comes back, she’ll be out for I don’t know how long, but it’s not going to be a month, put it that way, because she’s got to be back for the pay-per-view show.”
WWE Clash At The Castle is taking place in Cardiff, Wales at the Principality Stadium. The main event has been set as challenger Drew McIntyre will take on champion Roman Reigns for the WWE Undisputed Universal Championship.
