Honky Tonk Man Looks Unrecognisable In New Photo

Honky Tonk Man

The Honky Tonk Man’s legacy in wrestling is undoubtedly cemented. One of the greatest Intercontinental Champions of all time, a WWE Hall of Famer – and definitely one of the most recognisable WWE Superstars due to his trademark sparkly Elvis-esque jumpsuit, quiff and guitar.

However, age has most definitely been kind to the Honky Tonk Man, as the 68-year-old has shared a photo looking unrecognisable with silver flowing locks and a beard. Taking to his Twitter account, the WWE Hall of Famer shared a selfie acknowledging his advancing years with the quote.

“The older you get, the fewer people you trust.”

The responses, of course, largely ignored the quote and were more intent on comparing the legendary WWE star to The Dude from The Big Lebowski, Odin from the Thor movies, and Greek god Zeus.

Honk Tonk Man was actually inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in the last ceremony to date, with the Class of 2020 being postponed until 2021 with the coronavirus pandemic forcing last year’s event to be cancelled. The legendary former Intercontinental Champion was competing in matches up until the end of 2019. His last official WWE match was actually in an Intercontinental Championship match at Cyber Sunday in 2009, in which he was victorious – but by disqualification thus not walking away with the title.
