Hometown Star Potentially Set For Title Match At AEW Forbidden Door

British wrestling star is on the verge of receiving a title match at AEW Forbidden Door.

Forbidden Door is just a few days away on August 24th, at the O2 Arena in London, United Kingdom. A yearly tradition for the promotion to visit Britain, the Jacksonville-based promotion is just days away from visiting there again.

Last year at All In 2024 in Wembley, London native Nigel McGuinness made his long-awaited in-ring return in his hometown after a hiatus of almost 13 years.

Within a year of his return, McGuinness is potentially on his way to a title match at the upcoming PPV in London.

During tonight’s August 9th Collision episode, a “technical spectacle” match was revealed for the upcoming week, featuring McGuinness, Daniel Garcia, Hechicero, and Lee Moriarty, to be held on August 16. The match’s winner shall proceed to a contest with Zack Sabre Jr. in London for the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship.

AEW TNT Champion Kyle Fletcher Issues Huge Open Challenge

In the opening match of the night, Kyle Fletcher successfully defended his TNT Championship in a hard-hitting match against Tomohiro Ishii.

However, after the match concluded, the arrogant TNT Champion issued an open challenge to NJPW to send their best star to face Fletcher at the upcoming London PPV on August 24th, 2025.
