NJPW star Hiroshi Tanahashi has called out AEW Interim World Champion Jon Moxley for a championship rematch.
Tanahashi set himself a series of goals he wants to achieve before the year is out and returning to Tony Khan’s promotion to be crowned world champion is on his hit list.
At Forbidden Door Tanahashi clashed with Moxley for the chance to become the Interim AEW World Champion. The hard-hitting, back-and-forth bout resulted in Moxley defeating Tanahashi to claim the title. Now, the Ace has declared he wants another shot at the championship, but will first win the G1 Climax and the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship.
Speaking on NJPW World Tanahashi laid out his checklist of objectives stating:
“G1 will start soon. This is fortunate for me. Win the G1. Challenge for the IWGP World Heavyweight Title. Win the belt. Go back to the AEW. Get crowned the AEW Champion.”
