Earlier in February, it was reported that WWE had signed another free agent in Colby Corino. However, things between him and the company appear to have unraveled following the company’s sale to Endeavor.

According to an initial report by Bodyslam.net, Colby Corino was originally believed to have signed a deal sometime in late 2022. Corino was believed to begin training in the Performance Center earlier this year after his freelance obligations ended in December 2022.

However, Bodyslam’s Cassidy Haynes noted that the Endeavor deal put a halt to the company hiring new talent.

WWE’s sale to Endeavor interfered with Colby Corino’s signing with the company

In Corino’s case, Corino had agreed to a deal with the company before the Endeavor sale. But because nothing was signed or written down, the parties never moved forward with the arrangement.

In other words, Corino was originally thought to be unaffected by the current “hiring freeze” affecting the company following the Endeavor sale, but now it turns out that he is affected by it.

Colby is the son of wrestler Steve Corino. He has wrestled all over the independent wrestling scene for many years. He has also wrestled for the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA) and even had an appearance on WWE’s 205 Live program back in 2020. He also appeared on RAW Underground in a losing effort to Erik of the Viking Raiders.

Aside from his father, Colby has other wrestlers in his immediate family as well. his aunt is ROH and Shimmer veteran Alllison Danger and her husband/Colby’s uncle is Claudio Castagnoli’s former Ares.
