Ever since NXT went back to its developmental roots in 2021 fans have seen a wealth of new and exciting talent emerge from the brand.
Stars like Carmelo Hayes, Grayson Waller, Roxanne Perez and Bron Breakker have all burst onto the WWE scene over the past year with multiple other future Superstars not far behind.
One such highly-rated star is Sol Ruca. Ruca, whose real name is Calyx Hampton, is a champion gymnast who has only been wrestling for a short period of time. She was signed to a developmental deal and reported to the Performance Center after being successful in her try-out in March 2022.
Since making her debut she has become a viral sensation after performing several super athletic and jaw-dropping in-ring spots. Recently, Ruca was shown on television on the recieving end of an attack, which will write her off programming for the forseeable future.
After the segment it was reported that Sol Ruca was on the injured list having torn her ACL. However, there was no official word until now. Taking to social media the up-and-coming sensation confirmed she requires surgery for an ACL injury.
“Who needs an acl anyways… jk I do, surgery day baby let’s go.”
Multiple NXT Stars Were Involved In The WWE Draft
The 2023 edition of the WWE Draft took place on the April 28th edition of Firday Night SmackDown and the May 1st Monday Night Raw, which saw multiple stars from the “developmental” brand drafted to the main roster.
Unsurprsingly some of the brand’s best prospects such as Grayson Waller, Pretty Deadly, JD McDonagh and Cameron Grimes were picked up, but more shockingly the NXT Women’s Champion Indi Hartwell and Women’s Tag Team Champions Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn were also chosen.
There is no word in regard to the future of the titles, but WWE are hyping up the May 2nd edition of the show as “New NXT, New Opportunites.”
