One of the top free agents in the wrestling world may not make their WWE debut when many have previously predicted.
Spotted in the crowd at NXT Stand & Deliver, former World of STARDOM Champion Giulia was seen alongside William Regal and STARDOM founder Rossy Ogawa. Expected to debut for NXT later in the year, it was previously reported that the targeted date was July 7th at the NXT Heatwave special in Toronto Canada.
Unfortunately, Giulia suffered a fractured wrist while competing at the inaugural Marigold show, which is the new promotion founded by Ogawa. Although the company remains hopeful that the free agent could recover in time for Heatwave, the delay may be for a different reason.
As reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, both those close to Giulia and those in Marigold were aware that she would not be starting and that paperwork still needed to be completed. However, with the show taking place outside the United States, theoretically, it is not impossible:
“There have been reports that Giulia starts in Toronto, facing Roxanne Perez for the NXT title. We had been told before she was hurt, from those in Japan who know her, that she was not starting in WWE that soon. Marigold is also of that belief. Time will tell. Those close to her also say she will not be starting that soon, and all the necessary paperwork for her, her mother and her boyfriend who are moving with her to Florida, has to be completed for her to be in NXT full-time. However, since the show is in Canada, not the U.S., the visa restrictions aren’t there so from a legal standpoint she could do the show.”
Major Sports Star Eyeing WWE Debut?
In recent years, stars from the outside world of sports and entertainment have raised the bar in terms of quality of celebrity matches with matches from Logan Paul, Pat McAfee and Bad Bunny all being incredibly well received. During a recent interview, NFL megastar Patrick Mahomes caught Triple H’s attention with his comments about wanting to make a WWE return.
