A major WWE debut will not be taking place at the expected date due to injury.
Spotted in the crowd at NXT Stand & Deliver, Giulia was seen alongside William Regal and Rossy Ogawa and is expected to debut for NXT at the Heatwave special in early July and challenge for one of the Women’s Championships. However, following the events that took place at the first-ever Dream Star Fighting Marigold show, these plans appear to not be taking place.
Marigold was the promotion that was set up by STARDOM founder Rossy Ogawa following his firing from the promotion earlier in the year. Due to her loyalty to Ogawa, Giulia competed at the inaugural Marigold show on May 20th to help establish the new promotion. The former World of Stardom Champion teamed with Utami Hayashishita in a losing effort to Bozilla and Sareee.
The next day, Marigold posted the following update on social media, stating that Giulia was out of action until further notice:
“Giulia’s right wrist was injured in yesterday’s inaugural match. Today, her doctor examined her and diagnosed her with a fracture. Unfortunately she will miss the Hana Kimura show on the 23rd, and upcoming shows for the time being. We apologize and thank you for understanding.”
[Update] Following the announcement from Marigold, further information on Giulia was provided by Corey Brennan of Fightful Select. It is stated that although the former STARDOM wrestler has suffered a fractured wrist, WWE remains “hopeful” that she will be cleared in time for the NXT Heatwave special on July 7th. Additionally, the company are still targeting a title match with Roxanne Perez at the event but plans could change depending on the injury and other commitments for Marigold, for which Giulia will still be available for the foreseeable future and has been booked for Marigold’s Summer Destiny show on July 13th.
Further information about what to expect from the former STARDOM wrestler has also been provided, stating that when she debuts in NXT there will be minimal changes to her presentation as she was signed for “who she is” and the company “will not look to fix something that isn’t broken.”
WWE Announces Plans To Crown New Champion
Also at NXT Stand & Deliver, General Manager Ava confirmed that the brand would be introducing the NXT Women’s North American Championship in the near future, marking the first time the company has introduced a women’s mid-card championship. With the first champion set to be crowned at NXT Battleground, Ava also announced how the first-ever champion would be determined.
In a new update, the highly-anticipated WWE debut seems to be delayed.
Inside The Ropes wishes Giulia a full and speedy recovery.
