This showdown marks Cardona’s first singles bout against Kross, who just accepted his Killer Kross persona. The bout headlines HOG’s With Glory Comes Pride card on Friday, October 10, at the Amazura in Jamaica, Queens.
At 6’4” and 265 pounds, Kross built his reputation in NXT as a two-time champion known for the brutal Kross Jacket and Doomsday Saito finishers. After his WWE departure in August 2025, he made a surprise appearance at GCW Homecoming, interfering in Cardona’s match with Shotzi Blackheart before formally accepting the HOG challenge.
Opposite him, 6’2”, 224-pound Cardona, popularly known as ‘The Indy God,’ boasts a long resume: WWE Intercontinental, United States and Tag Team Championships, plus recent reigns in NWA and GCW. His reinvention since leaving WWE in 2020 has seen him embrace free agency, accumulating a string of titles across the independent scene.
Karrion Kross’s Journey Since Leaving WWE
Kross and his wife, Scarlett Bordeaux, officially parted ways on August 10, 2025, after their contracts expired and the company failed to renew them. Following his release, he uploaded his 71-minute documentary on YouTube, talking about his time in WWE and how they failed to provide a contract estimation to him. Fans in the arenas chanted their lungs out with ‘We Want Kross,’ the hashtags went trending on X, but still, nothing could get him a new contract with the company. He revealed that his exit was never a work, check that here.
On August 23 at GCW Homecoming in Atlantic City, Kross made a surprise return during the Garage Beer Championship match between Shotzi Blackheart and Cardona. Accompanied by his wife Scarlett, he stormed the ring, delivering a Doomsday Saito to Cardona and allowing Shotzi to secure the pinfall. His interference marked his first in-ring appearance since leaving WWE and set the stage for future bookings across the independent scene. This dramatic arrival underscored Kross’s vow to prove he belongs at wrestling’s highest level, outside of the Stamford promotion that released him.
