Update On Heath Slater Injury, Original Bound For Glory Plans

Heath

Heath Slater took to Twitter following his appearance in the Call Your Shot Battle Royal at Bound For Glory to confirm that he suffered an injury.

According to the Wrestling Observer, Heath has suffered a hernia and was taken to hospital as a result. It’s noted that he’s likely to need surgery. However, the report also states that, while Heath was taken to the hospital and diagnosed, he returned to his hotel late last night.

The Observer also notes that Heath was actually scheduled to win the match. Due to the stipulation that if the winner wasn’t Heath or Rhino, both would be out of IMPACT, Rhino would instead win the match.

Heath, despite being injured early in the match, made it to the final of the Call Your Shot Battle Royal alongside Rhino, Sami Callihan and a returning James Storm. Upon his elimination, though, Heath was immediately surrounded by officials and members of the medical team.

To earn a contract with IMPACT Wrestling, either Heath or Rhino had to win. Rhino’s career was also on the line. In the end, it came down to Rhino and Sami Callihan, with Rhino emerging victorious. Up until now, Heath had been competing in IMPACT as a ‘free agent’ and campaigning for the company to offer him a contract after storming the ring at Slammiversary.

We, at Inside The Ropes, wish Heath Slater all the best and hope the injury isn’t as serious as it seems.
