A heartbreaking update about John Cena has surfaced.

The Chain Gang Soldier has been on a great run so far in his retirement tour, which has only seven more dates remaining. John Cena recently had a match at WWE Clash In Paris against Logan Paul, and is scheduled to appear on tomorrow’s episode of SmackDown

However, in a heartbreaking update. WrestleVotes reported on their X/Twitter that sources within the WWE had told them that people within the company are expecting Cena’s appearance on tomorrow’s episode, which takes place at the AllState Arena in Chicago, to be his last SmackDown appearance, as there are limited dates available for his final run.

The tweet also mentions that this would be a full-circle moment for Cena, as he made his debut on an episode of SmackDown in the same building. Their tweet read:

“We’re told some within WWE are quietly expecting tomorrow night to be John Cena’s final SmackDown. According to a source, with only seven remaining dates left—and just two yet to be announced—it’s unlikely another will be a SmackDown event, meaning Cena will have debuted and ended his run on the blue brand in the very same building, Chicago’s Allstate Arena.”

Cena debuted in the same venue on the June 27, 2002, episode of SmackDown when he answered Kurt Angle’s open challenge and cut the now famous “Ruthless Agression” promo,

Where Will John Cena Appear Next

After his appearance on tomorrow’s SmackDown, the Cenation Leader will have a potential match against Brock Lesnar at WWE WrestlePalooza, which is scheduled for September 20. In October, The Last Real Champion will make his final Australian in-ring appearance at Crown Jewel, which is scheduled for October 11 in Perth.

Cena’s final match will take place in his hometown of Boston, Massachusetts, on the December 13 episode of Saturday Night’s Main Event.
