The Iron Sheik is these days best known for his rants against Hulk Hogan – and that’s why “beating the f*ck out” of him was the best part of his career!
In a way, there would have been no Hulkamania had it not been for The Iron Sheik. Defeating him was the catalyst for Hulk Hogan‘s launch into superstardom, as a mammoth near-1,500 day reign as WWF Champion brought forth the Golden Era of professional wrestling.
Quite frankly, though, The Iron Sheik couldn’t care less! Once again taking to Twitter, the WWE Hall of Famer tweeted out his greatest sporting achievement. Despite being a former WWF and Tag Team Champion, it was beating up ‘The Hulkster’ that Sheik is proudest of:
“BEATING THE F*** OUT OF THAT NO GOOD DUMB SON OF A B**CH HULK HOGAN”

The Iron Sheik is now famous on social media for his tirade of tweets against the disgraced Hulk Hogan. Even on Hogan’s birthday, he wasn’t safe from the former Colonel Mustafa’s online harassment.
A 37-year veteran of the squared circle, The Iron Sheik’s career peaked in the 1980s. Between his aforementioned career-altering contest vs. Hogan and his alliance with Nikolai Volkoff, the 80-year-old enjoyed a celebrated career that concluded, officially, in 2010. He hadn’t wrestled for three years by that stage, however.
During Hulk Hogan’s first reign as WWF Champion, The Iron Sheik was a regular challenger, amassing 16 attempts at prying the championship back from ‘The Immortal’ Hogan. Their last match together was a May 1987 tag team match, as Sheik and Nikolai Volkoff lost to Hogan and Jim Duggan.
