Hall Of Famer Eric Bischoff Clarifies His Current WWE Status

Eric Bischoff Voices Approval For AEW's Recent Change

Is Eric Bischoff here to stay with WWE?

Over the past couple of weeks, Hall of Famer Bischoff made two appearances for NXT. While one was virtually on the November 26th episode, he was physically present during the following December 3rd episode.

A former WWE employee, his recent appearances raised questions online about his current situation with the promotion. Within just a few days of appearing on NXT, Bischoff was spotted in a segment on MLW as well.

Clearing the doubts and clarifying his current contract status, Bischoff recently spilled the beans on the most recent episode of his 83 Weeks podcast. The former Raw general manager revealed that although he filmed some content for the Stamford-based promotion’s upcoming program on A&E, he is not under a “legend’s agreement” with them.

I did two WWE episodes. One on NXT and one for the WWE on the A&E Network. Then 48 hours later, I’m on an MLW show, who, by the way, was in a lawsuit with WWE… I don’t even have a legends agreement with WWE.

I don’t have a written agreement with anybody. I don’t even have a handshake deal with anybody. If TNA were to call me and say. ‘Hey, we’re doing something. We’d like you to show up.’ If it fit into my schedule and it sounded fun, I’ll do it.”

With no contractual obligations to anyone, Bischoff is free to work with anyone as long as it fits into his schedule and sounds fun.

Bischoff is also famous for his critical takes against Tony Khan’s AEW. However, recently, Khan addressed Bischoff’s comments and shared his thoughts on them.

Tony Khan Addresses Eric Bischoff’s AEW Criticism

In a recent appearance on K&C Masterpiece, Tony Khan shared his thoughts on Eric Bischoff’s comments and criticisms.

I have no idea. I don’t really care what he says. We have done really really well and we have a great thing going with AEW and something to be really proud of. We’re not only, for years to come, be doing shows on TBS and TNT, but we’re going to set the record for the longest run of pro wrestling ever on TNT.

It’s pretty amazing because for a company only five years old, we’ve accomplished so much. We set the world record for wrestling ticket sales and we’re just going into this new media rights deal that is historic and it hasn’t even kicked in yet.”
