Gunther Wants To Take On Brock Lesnar At WWE Money In The Bank

Gunther fighting Brock Lesnar in WWE

In June WWE heads to London for the Premier Live Event Money in the Bank in what promises to be a star-studded affair, especially after the announcement that the Undisputed Universal Champion Roman Reigns will be appearing. But the current Intercontinental Champion Gunther wants to add further star power to the UK event by having an epic clash with Brock Lesnar.

The leader of Imperium is one of the company’s most dominant performers. During his IC title reign, he has defeated all who have crossed his path including Braun Strowman, Sheamus, and Drew McIntyre. Now, the Ring General has set his sights on the Beast Incarnate.

Gunther and Brock Lesnar Had An Intense Face Off At WWE Royal Rumble

Gunther was a guest on My Love Letter to Wrestling with Mark Andrews and stated that his heated confrontation with Lesnar in the Royal Rumble was all he needed to know that a one-on-one encounter between the two behemoths must take place.

“That moment with Brock was all I needed, I don’t think we needed to have lots of action going on with him, get into a little scuffle and stuff, just the moment and the crowd reaction for that, it was all I needed. Just see how people…on the internet, you read stuff and people get easily excited, but often, the hype from online doesn’t translate to the venue. When that happened, I was like, compared to the US, especially in England, people understand competition. They tend to look at the match and take it as a competition and then emotionally react to it, rather than expecting the fireworks right away.”

Further on in the interview, the former NXT UK Champion was asked if a heavyweight contest with Lesnar in the UK is possible, he replied;

“I hope. The thing is, who knows. We had great success as Clash at the Castle, and now coming back with Money in the Bank, I’m hoping this is something that becomes a tradition where they venture out to Europe for the big events. The response is great and we get the chance more often.”
