Gunther Shares New WWE Contract Perk: “I Asked For That”

WWE NXT Star Sets Sights on Dream Match Against Gunther

Gunther has signed a new WWE contract.

A part of the main roster since 2022, The Ring General Gunther is also the longest-reigning Intercontinental Champion with 666 days. However, after losing it to Sami Zayn at WrestleMania 40, Gunther found himself in the World title race.

Defeating Damian Priest at SummerSlam, The Imperium Leader became the World Heavyweight Champion. An integral part of the promotion for the past few years, earlier reports had emerged about him signing a new promotion.

Now, during a recent interview with Ariel Helwani on Ariel Helwani Show, Gunther opened up on his new contract. While putting pen to a brand new deal, he also revealed the major perk that came attached with it.

“I signed a new contract and [A tour bus] was part it. I asked for that. What you don’t ask for, you don’t get.”

The champion finalized his contract last year, stating that his title stopped him from considering other options. With only a few days left, Jey Uso is all set to challenge The Ring General for his World title at WrestleMania 41.

Matt Hardy Has Heaped Praises On Gunther

Following last week’s bloody segment on Raw involving Gunther and The Usos, wrestling veteran Matt Hardy recently heaped praises on him. Speaking on the latest edition of The Extreme Life Of Matt Hardy podcast, Hardy said,

“100% he is. I think if you take, you know he just recently teamed with his brother, they had a great outing, but you take his brother, which is someone he’s got a long history with and you put him in the ring with this guy’s opposition and now he’s taking this out on his brother. He’s destroying his brother right in front of him, he’s handcuffed, can’t do anything. It feels so hopeless and defenseless, right?

He’s going to feel guilty deep down because he did that to his brother because of him and their issues. I thought that was great storytelling, I thought it was a great way to make Gunther a real badass who’s a real cold blooded destruction machine. I loved all that and I thought it was a great way to build the match.”

In other news: A former women’s champion has finally returned to NXT.

Also in the interview, Gunther spoke out on not headlining WrestleMania 41.
