Maven has made a name for himself years after his WWE exit. In an unexpected turn of events, he became a successful YouTube personality with a wide range of followers who connected with his captivating storytelling.
In 2001, Maven Huffman won the first Tough Enough competition, which got him a WWE contract. He was subsequently signed to SmackDown. He was only with the company until 2005, but during this time, he held the Hardcore Championship three times. A memorable highlight of his career was eliminating The Undertaker from the Men’s Royal Rumble match in 2002.
Maven launched his YouTube channel in June 2023, which quickly hit 100,000+ subscribers in its first month. He talks about his WWE career and life as a pro wrestler on the channel.
Maven Would Love To Return To Television In WWE Or AEW As A Manager or Commentator
Speaking on The Ariel Helwani Show, Maven opened up about his interest in returning to the pro wrestling scene as a manager or commentator, but especially as the former.
Bobby Heenan and Paul Heyman were brought up, as he revealed that he always loved the old-school type of managers. When asked if there was any interest in becoming a producer, Maven claimed that it was a thankless job and he would rather be a character on-screen.
It would either be in commentary, or–I’ve always wanted to be a manager! I love old school managers like Bobby Heenan.”
[Helwani: “Like Paul Heyman right now?”]
“So I think I could do that […] I think I could provide value to a company [WWE or AEW],” Maven said. “I’m always open to any opportunity. I’m never going to close the chapter of professional wrestling.”

Maven also noted that he was much happier now than he was when he signed with WWE. And that is why he prefers this stage of his life over the time he was signed to “the big company.”
