Greg Valentine Recalls Vince McMahon’s Furious Reaction To Tugboat Falling Asleep Mid-Conversation

Vince McMahon

WWE Hall Of Famer Greg Valentine has recalled Vince McMahon flying into a rage after Tugboat fell asleep during a conversation with the WWE Chairman.

Greg ‘The Hammer’ Valentine found success during his acclaimed wrestling career in the WWF where he captured both the Intercontinental Title and the WWF Tag Team Championship as part of The Dream Team with Brutus Beefcake.

A tag team specialist, Valentine also found title success in the NWA and WCW with partners as varied as Ric Flair, Terry Taylor, and Baron von Raschke by his side.

Speaking on a Title Match Wrestling video Greg Valentine recalled fellow WWF alumni Tugboat shocking the boss Vince McMahon when he fell asleep during a meeting:

“Vince didn’t know that he had this narcoleptic [sleep disorder] thing. He fell asleep while Vince is going over the match with us in the dressing room, and Vince got mad. ‘What are you doing falling asleep like that?’ But it was all good and he found out that Tugboat didn’t mean to fall asleep.”

Valentine went on to add that WrestleMania 2 headliner King Kong Bundy had also been diagnosed with the same neurological condition as Tugboat.

Tugboat was also known throughout his wrestling career as Typhoon and infamously for a brief spell in WCW as The Shockmaster.
