Greg Hamilton Reportedly Released By WWE

Greg Hamilton

Long-time WWE announcer Greg Hamilton has reportedly left WWE.

According to a new report from PWInsider, Greg Hamilton is no longer with WWE. The news comes after Hamilton threatened to use “WWE lawyers” to sue Griselda rapper Westside Gunn in a series of now deleted Instagram messages.

Hamilton accused the rapper of “stealing” his voice, before threatening to use WWE lawyers to sue the rapper.

“Well @westsidegunn @buffalokidsgallery let’s hope that since you STOLE my voice for your incoherent kindergarten fables…that you saved up enough delivering for Door Dash….because….You….are…,” he wrote, adding an angry faced emoji to substitute a word. “You’ll be paying me for years….apologize and I’ll think about not collecting every dime for the rest of your life….or I can just get WWE lawyers….that’s ok too. Settle with my lawyer. And don’t EVER use my voice again….so wrong.”

He later added in two more comments:

“It was 20k, but at noon eastern it’s $30k and we go to court,”

“Tick… tock… the longer this goes, the longer I have in court… you ready to settle or do u wanna dance with WWE lawyers? It’s a slam dunk. Price goes up by the day.”

Westside Gunn has become known among Hip Hip fans for paying homage to WWE and wrestling in general through both his song titles and lyrics. The FLYGOD’s albums have featured songs titled “Shawn Vs. Flair,” “WrestleMania 20” and “Mean Gene” to name just a few.

Greg Hamilton joined WWE in 2015, performing as a ring announcer on the main roster since 2016. Hamilton appeared on WWE programming as recently as Crown Jewel and SmackDown on October 22nd.

Hamilton later removed WWE from his Twitter handle and made his account private before confirming his departure. Writing on social media, the announcer described his exit as “mutual.”
