Grayson Waller ended a whirlwind week defeated but having earned the respect of a WWE Hall of Famer.
At Money In The Bank, Waller went toe-to-toe with a returning John Cena on the microphone making his pitch for WrestleMania to come to Australia. Although the former NXT star found himself on the receiving end of an AA, it was another prominent position for the highly-rated Aussie.
Just six days later, Waller was back on television and his time hosting the Grayson Waller Effect live from Madison Square Garden. Not only that he was joined by 11-time World Champion Edge.
During the segment, Waller tried to goad the veteran into retiring, instead, Edge recalled his first-ever appearance at the famous venue back in 1998 before revealing he would be wrestling Waller later that night.
When the two met in the ring, it was Edge who scored the win, but only after Waller had given an impressive account of himself. After the match, Edge grabbed a microphone and told Waller he “swam” a call back to their exchange earlier in the night.
Grayson Waller Had Been Dealing With A Serious Injury
Although Grayson Waller had been called up to the main roster as part of the Draft, he’s been unable to wrestle due to a broken leg. The star suffered the injury in his last match in NXT against Carmelo Hayes this had limited his SmackDown appearances to hosting his talk show the Grayson Waller Effect.
