Gran Metalik Thanks Vince McMahon For Granting His Release

Former WWE Superstar Gran Metalik has given his thanks to the WWE Universe for welcoming him “with open arms” and Vince McMahon for granting his release.

Gran Metalik joined WWE in 2016, initially as part of the Cruiserweight Classic tournament that saw a new WWE Cruiserweight Champion crowned. Metalik defeated former WWE Tag Team Champion Tajiri as well as the current IWGP Tag Team Champion Zack Sabre Jr. on his way to the final of the tournament where he was defeated by TJP.

From there Gran Metalik was a fixture of the cruiserweight division before forming Lucha House Party in 2018 with fellow luchadors Kalisto and Lince Dorado. That trio was split up in 2020 with Metalik and Dorado drafted to RAW while Kalisto stayed on SmackDown before he was released from WWE in April 2021.

Gran Metalik was one of the 18 superstars released on November 4th, 2021, alongside the likes of Keith Lee, Ember Moon, and Karrio Kross. However, unlike many of the Superstars who were let go, Metalik had reportedly requested to be released from his contract back in September.

Now, he has taken to Twitter to give his thanks to the WWE Universe for welcoming him during his time in the company, and WWE Chairman Vince McMahon for granting his release.

Thank you WWE universe for welcoming me with open arms during my stay in the company. Thank you @VinceMcMahon for granting me my release. I will miss you WWE universe. Remember the most important thing in life is to be Happy See you soon. “The king of the ropes” Mascara Dorada”

While it remains to be seen where Gran Metalik will appear next, his former Lucha House Party teammate Kalisto recently made his debut for AEW under the ring-name Samuray Del Sol. On the November 3rd edition of Dynamite, he teamed with AAA star Aero Star in a losing effort against AAA Tag Team Champions FTR with the titles on the line.
