“Good Chance” Major WWE Star Leaves The Company

WWE Survivor Series WarGames

As time continues to tick down on Drew McIntyre’s WWE contract it appears that there is a growing possibility that he could leave the company.

It was reported on the eve of WrestleMania 39 that the Scottish star and WWE are some distance apart when it comes to agreeing terms on a new deal. While a later report stated that he was unhappy with creative and money.

It is believed that McIntyre’s contract is set to expire at the end of 2023, making him a free agent heading into 2024.

The former World Champion was recently drafted to Raw, despite not featuring on television for a number of weeks. Writing in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer pondered who might be elevated to become a top heel on the red brand.

With regard to McIntyre, Meltzer stated that it would “make all the sense in the world” to turn McIntyre while adding that the idea is there’s a “good chance” he’ll be leaving the company.

“McIntyre right now is working with the idea there’s a good chance he’s finishing up, he could do a big program for the title as a challenger and finally leave.”

McIntyre has been absent from WWE since WrestleMania 39 due to an undisclosed health issue. Meltzer added that he isn’t expected back on television for a few more weeks and is no closer to signing a new contract.

“McIntyre will be out of action for a few more weeks. Nothing has changed regarding his contract situation.”

Drew McIntyre No Longer Advertised For WWE Money In The Bank

To add to the speculation about his future, Drew McIntyre is no longer advertised for Money In The Bank, despite being WWE’s most popular British star.

The former World Champion isn’t listed as a “featured Superstar” for the event on WWE.com as he was previously. Given the event is being held in London, and McIntyre’s huge popularity in the UK, it would be a major surprise for him not to be involved.
