Good Brothers Originally Slated To Debut On Inaugural Dynamite

Dave Meltzer has revealed that The Good Brothers, Karl Anderson and Doc Gallows, were originally slated to appear on the debut episode of AEW Dynamite.

Reported in the latest edition of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Meltzer noted that the pair had agreed on returning to New Japan Pro Wrestling prior to the expiration of their respective WWE contracts.

Regarding Dynamite, the respected journalist went on to note that Anderson and Gallows were set to attack the Young Bucks and begin a feud on the very first episode.

However, as was the case at the time, WWE were focused on talent retention and offered the former tag team champions new five year deals, reportedly worth £750,000 per year.

Quite understandably, the pair accepted and remained with the company a short while longer before being released on April 15th, 2020.

The former Bullet Club members would, of course, make their way to All Elite eventually, debuting on night one of the New Year’s Smash episode of Dynamite and aligning themselves with Kenny Omega.

They have remained a constant presence on the show ever since, as well as competing with home promotion IMPACT Wrestling and more recently, New Japan USA.
