Goldberg Reveals Which Hall of Famer He’d Have Liked To Tag With

Goldberg may have been a solo act for most of his career but the challenger to Bobby Lashley’s WWE Title has named the star he would have loved to team with.

Back in his WCW days, Goldberg did hold the WCW Tag Team Championship on one occasion with Bret ‘Hitman’ Hart but that relationship famously went south after Goldberg ended Hart’s in-ring career with an errant kick.

Now as a guest on WWE’s The Bump, Goldberg was asked if he could have a tag team partner from the past or present who would he choose? The former WCW Champion gave what some might find as a surprising answer:

“Bruiser Brody”

Brody began his wrestling career in the seventies and shared the ring with the likes of Bruno Sammartino, Jerry Lawler, Dusty Rhodes, and Antonio Inoki. He held various tag team titles throughout his career alongside the likes of Kerry Von Erich and Stan Hansen.

Bruiser Brody is perhaps sadly best known for the tragic end to his life. At a show in Puerto Rico, Brody was scheduled to face Danny Spivey but was asked to step into the shower area of the locker room by José Gonzalez who had previously wrestled as Invader Number 1. It was while in the shower alone with Gonzalez that Brody was stabbed with fellow wrestler Tony Atlas coming to his aid and helping Brody to get to paramedics who arrived sometime later. Sadly Bruiser Brody passed away from his injuries at the age of 42. Gonzalez stood trial for murder but claimed self-defence and was acquitted by a jury in a hugely controversial decision.

Bruiser Brody was the subject of an episode of the acclaimed documentary series Dark Side Of The Ring where the life, career, and death of Brody were all discussed. Brody was inducted into the Legacy wing of the WWE Hall Of Fame in 2019.

Goldberg could become the oldest WWE Champion of all time as he faces Bobby Lashley for the gold at SummerSlam.
