Goldberg Has A Very Honest WWE Desire About Bron Breakker Before Retirement

Goldberg Bron Breakker WWE 2025 Spear

Bill Goldberg walks into his retirement match at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event XL this weekend. He has one last shot at becoming World Heavyweight Champion as he locks horns with one of the best wrestlers of this era, Gunther.

WWE had sown the seeds for this program at Bad Blood in October 2024 when Gunther paid a visit to the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia, where Goldberg was in attendance. In front of the veteran’s wife and son, The Ring General took several digs at the legend, including his parenting ability, prompting him to hop over the barricade to try and confront the champ.

The truth is, anybody could have been in Gunther’s place for this program. The WWE Hall of Famer noted recently that it could have even been Bron Breakker, for whom he has a special affection because of his relationship with the Steiner family.

Goldberg Passes The Spear To WWE’s Next Big Star, Bron Breakker

Appearing on SHAK Wrestling, Goldberg opened up about his match this Saturday. While it bears watching whether the former Universal Champion wishes to go out on his back, there is one thing he has done already. He has passed the baton to Breakker when it comes to the Spear.

Goldberg’s Spear is unique because of its intensity. When he hits the move, the audience is able to suspend disbelief because it feels like the end of a match. When asked if Breakker deserves to carry the Spear forward as the young stalwart’s own, Da Man responded with a resounding yes. The former Intercontinental Champion, according to the legend, was the sole heir to his Spear:

“A thousand percent. I had a conversation last night with Bron, and I told him my feelings on it. I think a thousand percent, he’s the only human being in the WWE that should be doing [the Spear].”

The WWE Hall of Famer’s statement may be a tad controversial, as many big names also use the Spear, like Charlotte Flair and Roman Reigns, among others. But, needless to say, when Breakker executes the Spear, it does feel like the end.
