Goldberg Fires Shot At Roman Reigns’ Comments On Working Stiff

Goldberg challenges Roman Reigns

During his full-time career Goldberg was known for a hard hitting in-ring style. His entire offence was based around power moves, and that gave him plenty opportunity to make sure that his performances looked as real as possible.

For instance, his Spear, particularly in his WCW run and first spell with WWE looked especially devastating as the former World Champion simply ran through his opponent. However, it is often said that it’s important that a balance is struck between moves looking realistic, and not actually hurting the person on their receiving end.

Goldberg Hits Back At Roman Reigns

During an appearance on the Roman Atwood podcast, Goldberg discussed his in-ring style, while also taking the opportunity to address some recent comments from Roman Reigns. The former WCW star said that there was nothing wrong with blurring the lines between fiction and reality as long as no one actually gets injured.

”I’ll just be honest, Roman said how stupid it is to go out and hit people hard. Well, if you hit people hard and not hurt them, blur that line, I think it’s pretty smart. Plus, I don’t look like a , no offense, girl when I tackle people,’

Elsewhere during the conversation Goldberg revealed that his WWE contract expires in two months. He had already confirmed that he had fulfilled his match quota on the his current deal.

The WWE Hall of Famer was most recently in action at WWE Elimination Chamber back in February where he was defeated by Roman Reigns. His clash with the Tribal Chief had originally been scheduled for WrestleMania 36 but Reigns pulled out due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Goldberg hasn’t actually won a match in WWE since February 2020 when he defeated The Fiend Bray Wyatt to win the Universal Championship. Since then he has come out on the losing side against Bobby Lashley, Drew McIntyre, and Braun Strowman as well as Roman Reigns.
