At Super Bowl LVII pop megastar Rihanna cranked through a medley of her biggest hits revealing that she was pregnant in the process, but it turns out Goldberg wasn’t a fan.
Many fans loved the performance, while some were left feeling underwhelmed, however, it seems that the WWE Hall of Famer had a rather extreme reaction.
Speaking on his CarCast podcast, Goldberg said that he was left disgusted by the performance.
“I thought Rihanna was fricken horrible. I was disgusted by it, let’s just say that,”
Rihanna’s Performance Was “Horrible”
After his co-host Matt “The Motorator” D’Andria suggested that the half-time show was boring, the former World Champion doubled down on his criticism.
“That’s the understatement of the year. I thought it was disgusting. I thought it was horrible.”
After failing to find love in Rihanna’s performance, both men explained that they were impressed by Country singer Chris Stapleton’s rendition of the national anthem with Goldberg commenting:
“He didn’t grab his crotch every 15 seconds” or “make it about himself.”
After beginning his career in 1996 with WCW, Goldberg shone bright like a diamond as one of the company’s biggest stars in the late 1990s. After WCW was purchased by WWE in 2001 the star initially steered clear of the promotion before eventually debuting in 2003, attacking The Rock.
However, the star only remained with the company for a year. Eventually, Goldberg returned to WWE in 2016 and has competed on a part-time basis ever since. His most recent match for the company came at Elimination Chamber in 2022 where he lost to Roman Reigns.
In December 2022 it was reported that the WWE Hall of Famer’s contract with WWE had expired and he was yet to sign a new deal.
