Goldberg Details Massive Regret After WWE Legend Was Forced to Retire

Ex-WWE Star Believes This Was The Night When

Goldberg recently shared a massive regret surrounding a WWE Legend who was forced to retire.

Over the course of his career, Goldberg has made a name for himself as one of the hardest-hitting professional wrestlers. A former nose guard, The Myth is no stranger to the physical side of sports, and that is often reflected in his style of wrestling.

However, early on in his career, his hard-hitting tendencies got him into a lot of trouble. This includes Starrcade 1999, where he infamously kicked WWE Legend Bret Hart. It was an action that The Hitman claims ended his wrestling career, and he has held a grudge ever since.

Recently, Goldberg showed remorse for his actions. Speaking to JAKIB Sports, the 58-year-old recalled his actions and expressed how much he regretted them. He explained that he was still new to the pro wrestling industry at the time, and that, like most people new to something, he made mistakes.

I kicked Bret Hart in the head on accident a hundred years ago, and I’ve been remorseful ever since… I was young in the business. People make mistakes, right? And people have to understand that.”

As mentioned earlier, Hart still holds a grudge over this incident, and the two have been feuding over the same for quite some time. It will be interesting to see how and if The Hitman responds to this.

Goldberg is set for one final match against Gunther

Speaking of Goldberg and wrestling, the WWE Hall of Famer is set to have one final match with the Stamford-based promotion. The 58-year-old was asking for a retirement match for quite some time, and in November last year, it was confirmed he was getting his wish.

Now, in the months that followed, there wasn’t much to report about the same. However, on this week’s episode of RAW, the details of said match were finally confirmed. In a follow up to their brief confrontation at Bad Blood 2024, the former WWE Universal Champion will be doing battle with the current World Heavyweight Champion, Gunther.

The match is set for Saturday Night’s Main Event on July 12, 2025 in Atlanta, Georgia, the Hall of Famer’s hometown.
