Goldberg Called Out By Champion On WWE Bad Blood: “One Trick Pony”

Former WWE Superstar Teases Match With Goldberg At WrestleMania 41

Goldberg gets called out by a current champion in WWE.

At the Bad Blood PLE, fans witnessed Triple H announce a brand new championship for the upcoming Crown Jewel PLE. While, The Game was busy stating the rules for the new championship, WWE World Heavyweight Champion Gunther interrupted the segment.

Gunther came out to the ring and called out Goldberg at ringside. The Ring General interrupted the segment by setting his sights on the new gold before shifting his focus toward the former Universal Champion.

Gunther claimed that he lied about the former Champion being his inspiration, and how a “one trick pony” wrestler can never inspire him. He claimed:

“Bill Goldberg. I’m really happy we could meet. I wanted to clarify something. You might have seen what I said to Bret that you were a childhood hero of mine. That’s not true. How could someone like me be impressed with a one trick pony like you?”

H/t Fightful

However, things turned heated when Gunther told Goldberg’s son Gage that he hoped Goldberg was a better father than he was a professional wrestler.

This statement crossed the Hall of Famer’s patience level, as he jumped the barricade to attack Gunther. However, he was stopped by security, as Sami Zayn attacked The Imperium leader from behind. As Gunther fled the scene, the former World Champion stood tall in the ring with Triple H and yelled, “You’re next, boy”, possibly teasing a feud with Gunther.

The former Universal Champion was last seen in a losing bout against Roman Reigns at Elimination Chamber 2022. However, there are no confirmed reports yet about his in-ring return.

Hall Of Famer Goldberg Wants Bret Hart To “Grow Up” Past Their Incident

During an interview on the Busted Open Radio, Goldberg opened up on veteran Bret Hart holding a grudge against him. He shared that he finds the entire situation very sad, and wants Hart to grow up.

The Bret Hart thing is just it just saddens me as a human being. That’s all. I mean, first and foremost, I would never wish ill will upon any opponent or anyone like that to have an accident like that happen. And end someone’s career, especially someone who’s, you know, one of the best that ever was 100%. It sucks. I’m not asking anybody to understand it. I’m just saying, just leave me alone…

Yes, sir [about warning him the kick was coming]. Put your hand up. Do whatever you got to do, man. It is what it is. Come on, man. I love you, Bret. Don’t be such a prick. That’s all. Grow up.”
