After making a shocking return to WWE on the July 19th episode of Monday Night RAW, Goldberg is currently scheduled to appear on two more editions of the red brand before SummerSlam.
The WWE Hall of Famer is being advertised for the August 2nd show at the The Allstate Arena in Rosemont, and the August 16th episode which will be broadcast from the The AT&T Center in San Antonio, Texas. The second of these dates will be the ‘go-home’ edition of the show ahead of SummerSlam on August 21st.
On the most recent episode of the red brand, WWE Champion Bobby Lashley defeated a returning Keith Lee after issuing an open challenge. However, he was left with little time to celebrate as Goldberg marched to the ring to declare that “He’s next!”
MVP quickly grabbed hold of his charge, ushering the champion out of the ring. The pair were later interviewed backstage where MVP said that he wasn’t going to dignify Goldberg’s challenge with a response.
It was initially reported on July 15th that Goldberg was heading back to WWE for the first time since being defeated by Drew McIntyre at the Royal Rumble in January.
It has been widely reported that Goldberg’s current WWE contract stipulates that he competes in two matches per year, a match against Lashley would fulfil this obligation for 2021.
After his destruction of Kofi Kingston at Money In The Bank, WWE Champion Bobby Lashley seemed to take aim at Goldberg, asking “Who’s next?”
While there has been no confirmation around a match as yet, an announcement is expected in the coming weeks.
