As per PWInsider, the identity of the legendary Gobbledy Gooker has been revealed following his appearance at WWE Survivor Series on November 22.
Drew Gulak was revealed to be the man under the mask during the feathered fiend’s appearance on his thirty anniversary.
The Gobbledy Gooker was re-introduced to WWE audiences during the Survivor Series Kickoff by reigning WWE 24/7 Champion R-Truth who confused the bird’s thirtieth anniversary with The Undertaker’s in amusing fashion.
Seconds later after a distraction by Akira Tozawa and a masked ninja referee, the Gooker rolled up Truth to become the new WWE 24/7 Champion. Though he managed to escape before Truth could come to his senses, the character would re-appear later in the night in a backstage segment during the main show broadcast.
Finding a trail of bird seed backstage, the Gooker tucked in only for Tozawa to appear with his referee from a production crate and pin the legendary character to become the new champion. His joy lasted seconds as R-Truth clobbered him with a bag of feed to embark on his 45th reign.
Drew Gulak’s inclusion in the WWE 24/7 Championship makes sense seeing as the technical whizz has been warring with R-Truth over the green strap for several months now. They even competed in a normal singles match for the gold on the WWE Hell in a Cell Kickoff in October.
The Gobbledy Gooker first appeared at the 1990 WWF Survivor Series on November 22 of that year, the same nighet The Undertaker first stepped onto a WWE stage. Hatching out of a giant egg, the winged wonder danced with ‘Mean’ Gene Okerlund during the show.
Originally, Hector Guerrero was the man behind The Gobbledy Gooker.
