30 years after first appearing in WWE at Survivor Series, The Gobbledy Gooker became the new WWE 24/7 Champion on the Survivor Series Kickoff. Sadly, the reign would only last a matter of hours, with Akira Tozawa and R-Truth also winning the title during the event.
The Gobbledy Gooker would pin R-Truth to ensure at least one title change on the show that sees the champions from RAW and SmackDown clash for brand supremacy. The Gobbledy Gooker celebrated his 30th birthday by pinning 44-time WWE 24/7 Champion R-Truth after Truth made his now-trademark appearance on the Kickoff show to join the panel of Charly Caruso, Booker T, Jerry Lawler, Pete Rosenberg and JBL. While everything started off cordial, one WWE cult hero would pin another as Thanksgiving came early for the now one-time 24/7 Champion!
Akira Tozawa would then pin The Gooker with the aid of a lure, made from birdseed. After Tozawa won the title, R-Truth hit him with the bag of bird food and started his 45th reign as champion, screaming, “Happy 30th anniversary” at The Gobbledy Gooker.

Back in 1990, on the same show The Undertaker debuted at – Survivor Series – The Gobbledy Gooker would hatch from an oversized egg, which had been displayed at shows for months prior to Survivor Series, with the payoff heavily hyped. The crowd reaction would be incredibly negative, but The Gobbledy Gooker has since gone down in folklore, becoming somewhat of a cult figure in WWE.
