WWE Hall of Famer Gerald Brisco has explained why he has decided against watching Ric Flair’s final match on July 31st.
On May 16th it was confirmed that Ric Flair will be stepping back in the ring for one final match. Flair hasn’t wrestled since competing against Sting back in September 2011 during his stint with TNA.
The announcement was met with a mix of intrigue, criticism, and concern, due to the Nature Boy being 73-years-old and having suffered a number of serious health issues in recent years. Despite that, the event has sold out, allowing The Nature Boy to have one final sell-out bout in his legendary career.
However, one man who will decline to watch the match is Ric Flair’s friend Gerald Brisco. Addressing the match during an interview with Sportskeeda Wrestling, Brisco explained that Flair’s health issues are a big reason for his decision to skip the bout.
“He’s [Ric Flair] gone through such horrific health issues the last couple of years that if you’re a friend, you don’t want to see a friend do that. You just don’t want to see it. I’m not going to watch it. I’m probably going to get heat again when this gets out. Cuz you’re seen by millions and millions and millions of people across the world like The Rock. I’m not going to watch it.”
