Gerald Brisco On Xavier Woods Training His Son

Xavier Woods

Gerald Brisco has some words of thanks for WWE Superstar Xavier Woods. Speaking on his son Wes’ podcast, ‘The Brisco And Big Ace Show,’ Brisco discussed Woods being a mentor to Wes. The WWE Hall of Famer had this to say:

“I’ll always be grateful for Xavier Woods because Xavier really took Wes under his wing. Xavier had come from TNA and had already experienced a high level, and he was able to pass that knowledge willingly on to Wes and elevate Wes not only in the ring but (also) mentally. That’s what I really appreciate. It’s great when a guy takes the time and teaches you how to be a better tag team partner, but when he takes the time and teaches you how to be a better businessman, that’s helping the business (and) helping everybody elevate their selves. That’s what Xavier did for Wes and I’ll always be grateful for that.”

Woods and Brisco teamed together in Florida Championship Wrestling. The pair would go on to defeat Derrick Bateman and Johnny Curtis to become Florida Tag Team Champions. This reign was cut short as the pair had to vacate the titles due to Brisco suffering an injury.

Before being signed to developmental in WWE, Xavier Woods wrestle in TNA as Consequences Creed until 2010. Brisco would make his debut for the company a few years later in 2012, where he was initially aligned with Kurt Angle. Wes Brisco’s run in TNA is best known for his role as part of the ‘Aces and Eights’ group. During this time Brisco teamed with another second-generation wrestling star, Garrett Bischoff, son of former WCW executive, Eric.

Gerald Brisco ended a 36-year association with WWE when he was released from his contract in September 2020. He would appear again during the tributes to his fellow ‘Stooge’ Pat Patterson.

Xavier Woods recently lost the WWE Raw Tag Team Championships alongside New Day partner, Kofi Kingston. The pair were defeated at the TLC event by ‘Hurt Business’ members Shelton Benjamin and Cedric Alexander.

Wes Brisco still competes on the independent wrestling scene. His engagement to current AEW star Red Velvet was recently announced.
