Gable Steveson has interest from outside the world of wrestling following his release from WWE.
Despite much fanfare when he signed an NIL deal with WWE in 2021, Gable Steveson only had one televised match in the company, taking on Baron Corbin at the 2023 edition of NXT Great American Bash. He’s competed on a number of NXT live events and in a handful of dark matches since that time, but wasn’t seen in the company after his dark match against Cedric Alexander on February 9th.
On May 4th, news broke that Gable Steveson had been released from his WWE contract. The majority of this round of cuts was reported on May 3rd and included Drew Gulak, Valentina Feroz, and Boa.
Gable Steveson Grateful For His Time In WWE
Steveson was set to be interviewed by Ariel Helwani on The MMA Hour on May 8th, but a scheduling conflict prevented him from joining the show. The star’s agent Dean Martin sent the following statement to Helwani, saying that Steveson is ready to start competing again no matter where that may be. Helwani read the statement on air, saying:
“Gable Steveson is very grateful for the opportunities he had with WWE and would like to thank everybody in the organization who helped him get there. He would also like to thank the fans who supported him on his professional wrestling journey. Now, Gable is ready to resume competing against elite level competition and looks forward to sharing big news with you all very soon.
“Multiple NFL teams have reached out to Gable Steveson. He has also been training at Kill Cliff FC with Henri Hooft and Robbie Lawler. There is no shortage of opportunities to compete.”
