Olympic Gold Medallist Gable Steveson has reportedly signed with WWE.
Since winning Olympic Gold in Tokyo, Steveson has become one of the most sought-after combat athletes in the world. With Steveson already an NCAA Champion, Danny Hodge Trophy winner and junior World Champion, his resume has attracted a sting of suiters.
The Indiana native has openly fielded interest from UFC boss Dana White, at least one NFL franchise, as well as WWE. However, a new report suggests that the race for Steveson’s signature could be over.
According Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Steveson has signed with WWE.
The report notes that no start date or other details were available. It also remains unclear as to whether the amateur star is done with the University of Minnesota.
The report comes after Steveson cryptically posted on social media, “Just put the pen to paper.”

If Steveson has indeed signed with WWE he will be the second member of his family to join the company in a matter of days. It was recently confirmed that Gable’s brother Bobby, signed a deal with WWE alongside five other recruits.
WWE have held an interest in securing the signature of Gable Steveson long before he starred at the Olympic Games. Speaking in April, Triple H confirmed that WWE were fans of the star. For his part, Steveson sent a message to Vince McMahon on social media after his Olympic triumph.
Steveson had earlier been shown in the crowd at NXT TakeOver: Stand & Deliver, while he was recently presented to fans at SummerSlam, Gold Medal in hand.
