AEW is ramping up their summer schedule with Fyter Fest set to return along with a Fight For The Fallen show all scheduled for July as they head back on the road.
After spending most of the pandemic producing their weekly Dynamite shows and pay-per-view events from Daily’s Place in Jacksonville, Florida, AEW is wasting no time in making their return to touring an exciting prospect.
Having already announced a July 7th Dynamite to take place in Miami, Florida that show is now subtitled ‘Road Rager.’ One match is already set for that event with Cody Rhodes accepting QT Marshall’s challenge to meet him in a South Beach Strap Match. That challenge came on Dynamite after Rhodes announced he would be teaming with Arn Anderson’s son Brock in an upcoming encounter against Marshall and his Factory teammate Aaron Solow.
Fyter Fest is to make its return for the third year in a row over the 14th and 21st of July on Wednesday nights on TNT. For the first time, it will be held outside of Florida with 2019’s edition held in Daytona Beach, and 2020’s in Jacksonville. The 14th of July show will emanate from Cedar Park, Texas with night 2 of Fyter Fest on the 21st taking place in Garland in the Lone Star State. 2019’s main event at Fyter Fest saw Jon Moxley defeat Joey Janela in an Unsanctioned Match. In 2020 Fyter Fest was held over two nights for the first time with Hangman Page and Kenny Omega defending the AEW Tag Team Title on night one against Best Friends. On night 2 the main event saw ‘Le Champion’ Chris Jericho defeat Orange Cassidy.
The July 28th show to be held in Charlotte, North Carolina is now the third annual Fight For The Fallen show. The original event in 2019 raised money for victims of gun violence before the 2020 edition raised money to go towards COVID-19 relief efforts. In 2019 the show saw The Young Bucks defeat The Brotherhood of Cody and Dustin Rhodes in a tag team dream match main event. The 2020 edition was headlined by Jon Moxley successfully defending his AEW World Championship against Brian Cage.
