One of the latest additions to the Full Gear card was nearly something very different before AEW President Tony Khan had a change of heart according to a new report.

On the most recent edition of AEW Dynamite, PAC faced FTR’s Dax Harwood in the show’s main event match. The Englishman came out on top, submitting Harwood but was immediately attacked by Harwood’s tag team partner Cash Wheeler.

The lights then went out and when they came back on things had gone from bad to worse for PAC as FTR were now joined in the ring by Malakai Black and Andrade El Idolo. The four men immediately began tearing into PAC before his Death Triangle teammates The Lucha Brothers came to make the save.

Cody Rhodes also made his way to the ring through the Indianapolis crowd and went straight after Malakai Black. Death Triangle and Rhodes soon cleared the ring and stood tall with the eight rivals now set for two massive tag team bouts at Full Gear.

FTR recently defeated The Lucha Brothers for the AAA Tag Team Championship and will look to repeat the feat at Full Gear as they challenge for the AEW Tag Team Title. Cody Rhodes will team with his SummerSlam 2015 opponent PAC as they look to end their respective feuds with Black and El Idolo on November 13th.

While the title match seemed to always be on the cards, the bout between Black, El Idolo, Rhodes, and PAC was originally meant to be something different. Dave Meltzer, talking on Wrestling Observer Radio says the four-men were originally meant to meet in a Fatal Four-Way:

‚ÄúThis was not originally on the card. Originally they were going to do a Fatal Four-Way and then Tony Khan decided to make it into a tag team program, you know which would have been right when they did the first angle.”
