After an acclaimed bout earlier in 2022, FTR have revealed what it would take for them to meet in the ring one more time.
FTR have been enjoying arguably the best year of their collective careers. The pair currently hold the IWGP, ROH and AAA World Tag Team Championships while they are also the number one ranked team in AEW.
Dax Harwood in particular has also earned plaudits for his in-ring performances, with many fans tipping him to top ‘wrestler of the year’ lists come December.
One match which earned significant praise was the meeting between Harwood and his FTR teammate Cash Wheeler on the April 27th episode of Dynamite. The match was a qualifying bout in the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament. After Harwood saw off Wheeler, he was defeated by eventual tournament winner Adam Cole in the first round proper.
Speaking in a new interview with GiveMeSport, the pair revealed that after the success of their match as rivals, they keep being asked about when they will wrestle again. However, Wheeler said they will only wrestle each other again if it’s in the finals of the tournament.
“You know, it’s something that people ask us a lot now, We did a meet-and-greet yesterday, and it’s the question we get asked the most. ‘Will you guys every do it again?’ I said, ‘The only way we’re gonna run it back this time is if it’s the finals of the Owen. Not the qualifiers, the finals.'”
Meanwhile, FTR are scheduled to be back in the ring at AEW All Out where they will team with Wardlow to take on Jay Lethal and the Motor City Machine Guns.
