AEW’s FTR To Shane McMahon: “Hollatcha Boys”

FTR Shane McMahon

In the wake of reports that Shane McMahon is gone from WWE, former AEW Tag Team Champions FTR want Shane McMahon to get in touch!

Shane McMahon made a surprise return to WWE screens as he entered the men’s Royal Rumble match at number 28. He managed to eliminate old foe Kevin Owens en route to the final three, only to be dumped over the top rope by the eventual winner of the match, Brock Lesnar.

It has also emerged that as well as competing in the match, McMahon was one of the masterminds that helped put the men’s Rumble match together. Earlier reports suggested backstage morale was low in the company due to repeated changes in both the men’s and women’s Rumble bouts as well as the absences of Triple H and TJ Wilson to help produce the show.

While McMahon was originally scheduled to compete in the Elimination Chamber and also have a match at WrestleMania, it was reported in the wake of the Royal Rumble issues that those plans had been scrapped.

On February 2nd, it was shockingly reported that Shane McMahon was no longer with the WWE at all. According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, Shane is “out of WWE,” news that came after it was reported that McMahon had been “quietly let go.”

In the wake of these surprising reports, former AEW Tag Team Champion Dax Harwood took to social media to seemingly address the situation and ask Shane to get in touch with FTR, saying “Hollatcha boys @shanemcmahon.” Harwood also posted pictures of himself and fellow FTR member Cash Wheeler with Shane O’ Mac during their time working in WWE.

Before their time in All Elite Wrestling, FTR worked as a team in WWE from 2014 until their release in 2019 and were known as The Revival. Then known as Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder, the pair managed to capture the NXT, Raw, and SmackDown Tag Team Championships during their tenure.

The AEW stars weren’t the only ones to address the situation with McMahon as former GCW Champion Matt Cardona also took to Twitter, and staked his claim to face the former Best In The World trophy winner in a death match for GCW.

Of course it would be shocking to see Shane McMahon appear for a wrestling promotion outside of WWE, but Inside the Ropes will continue to report on the situation as it develops.
