There has been frustration backstage at NXT in recent weeks, as reported by Sean Ross Sapp on the latest edition of Monday Night Live. This has been caused by a number of different problems, from production issues to injuries.
“They’ve got a lot of injuries, and that’s unfortunate, but there’s a lot of people – basically they have a gorilla table at NXT right now. There was a lot of frustration there at a recent set of tapings, and most of the wrestlers I talk to they’re like “man, we get it”. They’re down Tegan Nox, Karrion Kross, Finn Balor, Kyle O’Reilly and Ridge Holland, and they wrote off Adam Cole for a couple of weeks. So they were bare bones.”
Frustration backstage at NXT was also reported on Fightful Select, where these production issues were first discussed. Sapp reported there that there were several technical difficulties and errors during the tapings, leading to much frustration.
Sapp also reported that the plan, at least currently, is not to vacate the NXT title after Finn Balor suffered a broken jaw. He explained that “They don’t want to take the title off of Finn Balor. They don’t want to do that right after Karrion Kross was forced to vacate that. So they’re trying to wait it out and see what they can do or what they can make work.”
"A lot of people ask, is this title reign going to be as good as the last one? I think they just got an answer."

Sapp did mention that the mood backstage is not all bad; many wrestlers at NXT are said to have loved the Johnny Gargano, Candice LeRae and Indi Hartwell segments. However, this has raised issues as wrestlers backstage are regularly told that they “need weeks to build somebody”, with talent now arguing that the segments provided a “great one night build” for Hartwell when she did not even appear on the show.
