The total viewership and demo ratings for the latest instalment of Friday Night SmackDown have been revealed.
As reported by Brandon Thurston by Wrestlenomics, the June 17th episode of Friday Night SmackDown pulled in an average of 2,389,000 viewers. The show also scored a 0.62 rating in the 18-49 year-old-demographic.
This is an increase on the previous week where the show drew 1,914,000 viewers with a 0.44 rating in the key demographic.
The opening to the June 17th edition of SmackDown was one of the most anticipated in recent memory. Just hours after stepping down as WWE CEO and Chairman of the Board, Vince McMahon addressed the WWE universe. McMahon stepped down as McMahon is under investigation following an alleged hush payment made to a former employee he had an affair with.
In the promo, McMahon appeared defiant as he welcomed everyone to the show.
In the main event, Roman Reigns defeated Riddle to retain his Undisputed Universal Championship. After the victory, Reigns was confronted by a returning Brock Lesnar. It was announced after the show that the pair will meet in a Last Man Standing Match at SummerSlam.
